What is the main role and responsibility of a Book Editor?

If you associate with us as an Editor, you must assign all chapters of the book (except first and last chapter- these chapter will be written by editor only) to your colleagues/interested authors. You will review/edit all chapters and will submit final chapters. Apparently, Editor works as corresponding person from ground level submission to the production stage.
